Donating to our book sales
The Friends of the Library accepts gently used books, DVDs, and other media for placement in our twice-yearly used book sales. Our book sales are a great way to spread used books back into the community, and dollars into the support of your local library.
Because storage space in St. Michael City Center and the Library is of limited availability, we generally ask that donations be brought in no sooner than 3 months prior to each sale. Our Spring Sale occurs in April, so bring in your donations starting in January. The Fall Sale happens in mid-October, so please wait until late summer before bringing in donations, if possible.
It helps our volunteers A LOT if donations can be brought in no later than a week before the sale, to avoid last minute sorting.
At the library, bring your boxes or bags with items to the library front desk.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept textbooks, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, encyclopedias, Reader's Digest condensed books, Bibles, magazines, or any books with mold, mildew, cover or page damage. We do not accept nonfiction or reference books more than 7 years old. Also, no books with yard/garage sale stickers.
All proceeds from our sales go to the Friends of the St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Library to support programming, special equipment, and furnishings for the library.
